Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

ARC: Journal of AI in Clinical Practice believes in maintaining a high ethical standard in the process of publishing. All authors, reviewers, editors and journal staff should observe the principles of honesty, fairness and integrity. The guidelines are used to safeguard the trustworthiness of the account of research and serve a dignified academic community.

Our journal strictly adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to uphold the highest standards of publication ethics. 

Ethical Standards for Authors

Authors to ARC will be expected to:

  • Present work that has not been published or not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Recognize all and every source appropriately and do not plagiarize.
  • Properly report procedures, findings and conclusions.
  • Report the existence of conflict of interest (financial or otherwise).
  • Use ethical considerations in situations where research is conducted with human subjects, clinical information or sensitive data.

Authors are to make sure that all mentioned co-authors contributed something significant and that they gave their acceptance to final manuscript.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are also necessary to ensure the quality and fairness of ARC. Reviewers should:

  • Treat manuscripts as confidential.
  • Provide objective and constructive feedback on a scientific basis.
  • Avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
  • Notify the editorial office if ethical concerns such as plagiarism or data errors are identified.

Reviewers should not utilize or distribute unpublished content for personal or professional advantage.

Editorial Integrity

The editorial staff has the role of making sure that any work published is of ethical and scholarly standards. Editors should:

  • Professionally and objectively evaluate manuscripts.
  • Uphold confidentiality of submitted work.
  • Recuse themselves in cases of conflict of interest.
  • Maintain journal policies on integrity and ethical conduct.

Editorial decisions are made based on reviewer recommendations, scientific merit, and relevance to the journal’s mission.

Addressing Misconduct

ARC does not underestimate ethical misconduct. Unethical behavior may include:

When ethical concerns arise, the editorial team investigates thoroughly. Actions may include rejection, correction, retraction, or formal notification to the authors depending on the severity of the issue.

Accountability and Transparency

ARC encourages transparency in all published research. Authors are encouraged to provide supplementary materials and clear methodological descriptions to support interpretation and reproducibility of findings where possible.
